Carved Amber
Amber is a fossil product of common vegetable resin. It was well known to ancient Greece as well as its capacity to attract light items when rubbed. For that reason they have named the material HΛEKTPON (ELECTRON). This is the original ancient Greek word out of which derived all forms used in modern times electricity and electronics. It is said that Thales of Miletos has studied the "electrical" characteristics of the material at the end of the 7th century BC.
Deposits are found in many places on earth and in many tones. Amber is a yellow, reddish-yellow, or brown-yellow, hard, brittle and translucent material used in pharmacy and the arts. The word is also used to indicate its main color since white and green tinted amber have also be found.
Furthermore due to finds of amber we can have today many information regarding the prehistorical insects which are encircled and conserved not touched by the truck of time.
Since antiquity amber was used as decorative material and we have found little sculptures made out of it as well as engraved items, sword handles, hilts and other items. It was also extensively used as decorating pieces on ornaments, rings, medallions, etc.
Now days as far as concern the goldsmithery, it is mostly used mainly in combination with silver for the creation of jewels, rings, necklace and other products. In this page you can appreciate some samples of our work on Amber. We have developed proprietary hand working techniques and methods that combine with our special processing of natural amber in producing some distinguished artistic pieces.

We find scarab, this coleopteron insect, deep in antiquity as a sacred symbol of the Egyptian God Ftha. It was a symbol of immortality and it was believed that it has such properties in order to prolong life. Both the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians were curving embossed scarabs on semiprecious stones and with some kind of blue clay, where low, in their bases, were carved some hieroglyphics or even images.
In the first image you can distinguish the two cobras (symbols of ancient Egypt), and in the middle the symbol of Sun.
